Adam Skinner, MA, LPC

Individual Counselor

I hold a BS in Human Services and Counseling and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, and I completed my EMDR training in 2020. Prior to joining the All-Terrain team, I’ve worked as a pharmacy technician, a case manager for homeless youth and HIV+ adults, an outreach worker in Denver’s nightclub scene, and a non-denominational pastor. In counseling I define health as balance. I emphasize accepting all parts of one's self instead of avoiding unpleasant thoughts or feelings. My goal in counseling is to create a space characterized by safety, respect, dignity, and support while also encouraging and challenging people to keep growing toward goals. I enjoy working with adults in both telehealth and in-person formats. I'm passionate about helping people heal from trauma, codependency, pornography addiction, and loss. I don’t believe that you’re here by accident. If you’re considering counseling there’s a part of you that’s searching for healing, wholeness, meaning, and joy, and I want to help you find it.

Adam accepts Aetna, Multiplan, United Healthcare, and Cigna insurances as well as private pay on a sliding scale at this time.

Katie LaCombe, MA, LPCC

Individual Counselor

I strive to create a safe, warm, and accepting space to honor those who desire to heal, process, and grow in the context of a counseling relationship. Some of my approaches to therapy include Internal Family Systems Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and a three-phased approach to complex trauma as well as Christian faith-based services when requested. I firmly believe that through gentle, respectful, culturally competent and trauma informed approaches space can be held for you to heal. I work to ensure everyone that walks through my door feels all parts of them are welcome and treated with dignity. I enjoy working with people across the adult lifespan, from adolescents and young adults to senior citizens. I look to help patients experience hope and become empowered to realize their full potential while healing at their own pace from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, eating disorders, and dysphoria stemming from spirituality and personal identity. I look forward to working with you and witnessing your growth and healing!

Kristen McCulloch, MA, LAC-C

Individual and Couples Counselor

Hello, I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor Candidate and working toward licensure as a professional counselor. I have experience working in residential substance abuse centers, with a focus on holistic healing and interventions such as equine-assisted therapy groups and intensive groups for addiction.  Because of my experiences in addiction counseling and living/working with military service members, I take a direct approach to therapy.  I am comfortable discussing difficult topics without judgement, and I find this is helpful with families and couples, as well as individual clients.  I follow experiential and family-systems therapy models to develop treatment that is unique to the client, not the therapist.  I believe creating an environment of safety and freedom from judgment is the most important foundation for counseling. I look forward to working with you!

Aaron Henes, MA, LPCC

  Child and Family Counselor

Hi, I am excited to get to know you and see how I can help you thrive. My approach is rooted in Rogerian or client-centered therapy, which means that I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I'm also informed by somatic therapy, which recognizes the interconnectedness of mind and body and emphasizes the importance of understanding and addressing physical sensations and reactions to promote healing. I explore this through Internal Family Systems and interpersonal neurobiology, emphasizing the role of relationships and social connections in shaping brain development and mental health. This means that I am concerned with helping you both think and feel better. Overall, my goal is to create a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship where clients can feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate their anxiety and work towards greater well-being

Alexis Flagstad, MA, LPCC

Teen and Adult Counselor

Therapy is a chance to get to know yourself on a deeper level and grow to fully accept who you are, as well as an opportunity to change the parts that aren’t working for you. My background includes community mental health, a domestic violence shelter, and a residential youth treatment center. I have experience working with many different communities and enjoy being there to witness a client’s growth in confidence and happiness. With an educational background in Adlerian, CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing I take an eclectic approach; utilizing specific skills that fit each client. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents, people with ADHD and those in the LGBTQIA+ community. I practice in-person in Spearfish, SD and online in both Spearfish and Colorado Springs. I look forward to meeting you in person or online!
